Cooperative Experience
Co-op is great! It gives you a chance to apply what you've learned in the classroom and pushes you to find answers and solutions to the problems on your own... it also gives you an idea of what the market is like and ...gives you a chance to try on different roles to figure out what fits you best.

Information Technology requires 3 quarters of co-op experience. Co-op is short for co-operative education, and is a system in which you, the student, gain real-life work experience. You will be paid for the job, but more important, you gain on-the-job experience that is valuable when you graduate and begin to search for a full-time position. To help facilitate your finding a job, The Office of Cooperative Education and Career Services at RIT maintains job listings from companies all across the US that are looking for co-op students to work for them.

Refer to either the Undergraduate Handbook or the Graduate Handbook for details of co-op criteria, salary, and scheduling.
