The Center for the Handheld Web is dedicated to providing information and support to developers & managers aiming at developing sites to serve both mobile/handheld Web-connected device users and full-screen users. This problem of building one site to service such radically differenct device sizes is not a trivial one.
Your assignment is to come up with and write up a new site design (following the Webmonkey outline), and to develop and implement a prototype site showcasing your new design. You will present your design and tech-demo site during exam week, and will attempt to "sell" it to the customer (your instructor).
In addition to getting a good grade in this class, if any of the designs are appealing enough I will offer the winning team an independent study experience in the Spring Quarter. The independent study group will implement the winning design on the actual new site, and their work will be "show-cased" to the world.
